Ways to Shift a Toddler's Mood

Ways to Shift a Toddler's Mood

DID YOU WAKE UP ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE TODDLER BED THIS MORNING? 🙈 🙉 🙊

Toddlers experience a rollercoaster of emotions just like grown ups, and that’s ok! We all wake up on the wrong side of the toddler bed sometimes. If you’ve determined they are fed, rested, and otherwise healthy, then here’s a list of things you can do to shift the mood.

And no, you don’t have to drop what you’re doing and try to do all of them. This is more of a “hey I haven’t tried that in awhile” kind of suggestion list!

đŸ’« Hide and Go Seek with their lovey means having your child close their eyes and hiding their lovey or a toy. Then together you have to find them as a team.

đŸ’« Surprise silliness could be just doing something totally unexpected like pretending to trip into a pile of pillows or that your voice is suddenly coming out like dog barks. Laughter can be so cathartic when it’s not forced (such as tickling which I wouldn’t actually recommend here).

Try ONE thing and see what happens. You can use this list to experiment and see what is supportive for your little one. Then try another one a different day! The common denominator here is CONNECTION. Just because there was upset doesn’t mean the whole day is ruined. Sometimes this is all a toddler needs for 15-30 mins to get back into the swing of their day.

What would you add to this list? Tell me in the comments!

And be on the lookout 👀 for a brand new workshop I have coming your way. All the details and sign-up will posted tomorrow but head on over to my stories to guess what the workshop will be about! ❀
