I have a confession to make. Today I am struggling. I am struggling to do what I encourage so many other parents to do. And that’s to keep running the race and finish strong. -

I’m in a place where I feel like I’m damned if I do and damned if don’t. Why? Well, dealing with the School District in our City is reaaaaaaallly draining 😓

I feel like since we’ve moved to Texas it’s been a constant battle with trying to find the “right fit” for Jaxson’s Services and Education. As I’ve mentioned before- this State does not recognize “developmental delays” which looks at the whole child. Back in California they did and it made things so much better and smooth. -
My “Mom instincts” are very peaked right now. As we approach the end of the school year I just don’t feel at ease with how we are being treated and how they feel about Jaxson. -

He is an amazing & smart little boy. And I feel like I am CONSTANTLY having to remind them of his history and how amazing he is RIGHT NOW! I spoke to his ST yday and told her how he spelled his name and some colors and her response: “Wow! He probably memorized the colors since he has a photographic memory!” how about NO, he read the letters because he knows his alphabet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Ugh! She then also said that because he knows his ABCs, Numbers, etc. it’s confusing (to her) that he can’t communicate better 🤦🏽♀️ their suggestion is to get him evaluated for Austism and ADHD. (Um no!)

If there wasn’t only 5 days left and if Jaxson didn’t enjoy going, I seriously would pull the plug because it just feels messy! Acknowledge that Jaxson is smart and that he is making progress. Period! I am supposed to have one final meeting next week with these people and I’m already like 🙄

Because of Jaxson I have to keep pushing, I have to remind myself that this race is not given to the swift but to those that endure! I’m enduring y’all but whew it 👏🏾is👏🏾hard! So please say a prayer for us & send some well wishes.
