Instagram Isn’t Real

Instagram Isn’t Real

I like esthetically pleasing photos. I also like a clean house. And by that, I mean, if a closet door or drawer can’t hide it, I like it to look clean. But sometimes we see a picture and think, I wish my house looked like that or I wish I could keep my house that clean.

But the reality is to the left of this photo is a laundry room with a door hiding my total lack of character in procrastination and discipline. I’m hiding my flaws. Not because I’m fake, but because I’m not proud of it. No one flaunts things they’re not proud of... usually. Behind that door are loads of laundry that I can never seem to keep up with because I hate it. If you saw my laundry room you’d feel pretty good about yourself. Honestly, if you knew my real life you’d feel pretty good about yourself. Lol

So please, just a friendly reminder, Instagram isn’t real... isn’t completely real I should say. No one shows flaws because we all have them and who really wants to see negativity all the time? Not me. But sometimes in the hype of total positivity and prettiness we forget that we’re all the same. Were all flawed in one area or another. We all have bad days. But we all like showing people our good days.

The last couple days haven’t been the best for me. Dishes have been sitting in the sink for two days. I finally did them, and documented a clean kitchen. The people who saw a pretty photo, didn’t read this caption, and kept scrolling, have a completely different perception of my life than the one I just captioned.
