Do You Feel Mom Guilt?

Feelings of guilt are so incredibly common in parenting.
For moms, of course, but also dads… and grandparents, caregivers…
I listed ⬆️ some of the top reasons I hear from parents on why they feel guilty. And, some of the reasons I myself have felt guilt as a mom.
Any sound familiar? ❤️
So, what do you do with your guilt when you feel it?
➡️ Start by acknowledging it (instead of avoiding it) “Hmm... I’m feeling really guilty right now…”
➡️ Try to identify and understand what has triggered your feelings.
➡️ Do your best to have a broad and balanced perspective.
✅ Can’t always do it all… and that’s ok. (And you don’t have to)
✅ Can’t be there for everything… and that’s ok.
✅ Can’t be calm 100% of the time… that’s ok, you’re working on it… and you can model accountability and repair / reconnect with your child.
✅ Can’t always know the “right” thing to do or say in the moment… that’s ok, you can always revisit any moment with your child.
✅ Can’t expect perfection from your child... they’re learning, growing and that involves a lot of trial-and-error.
.
❤️ And always remember to pause and give yourself credit for what you ARE doing... it’s a lot. ❤️
