Be More Present

👉🏼Parents often tell me: I need things to slow down.
🔥It's so easy to try to balance way too much, while unintentionally sacrificing basic needs like rest, connection, and stillness.
👉🏼Research does suggest that time feels as if it moves quicker as we age.
👉🏼Perhaps this is because we often get trapped in the past or stuck in the future, both of which take us out of the present moment.
💖The present moment gives us the gift of stopping our bodies, observing our thoughts and feelings, and paying close attention to the thoughts and needs of our children.
💖As a daily practice, it's probably the best gift that I've given myself and that I could give to any parent who seeks my guidance and support.
👉🏼Here are some daily tips for being present:
💞Spend 5 mins observing your thoughts without judgment.
💞Spend 5 mins observing your child's play without controlling your child's efforts.
💞Take 10-15 mins a day to simply be in nature without your phone.
💞In a difficult situation, ask yourself: what's coming up for me?
🔥If you feel like none of this is possible for you and you're resisting the recommendations, sit with that. What frightens you about prioritizing simplicity and balance?
