All I Do As a Mom
Today I had a to do list a mile long and there was no space/time for tidying mess, sorting clothes, and cleaning the house.
I felt the irritability, frustration and rage bubbling under the surface at not meeting the expectations I set out for myself and felt the overwhelm of being pulled in a billion different directions.
Momming is a lot.
Some days we rock it.
Other days we feel like we are treading to keep our head above water.
Rather than beat myself up or criticizing how I felt today I took my feelings as a red flag. As the engine light coming on telling me to slow down for some maintenance or a check in.
Our capacity as moms shifts day to day and no longer depends just upon us. Our capacity shifts based in how our family is sleeping, our child's behaviour, external deadlines, and so much more.
If you're having a hard day, know that you're not failing.
Momming is hard.
Give yourself grace and adjust your expectations on days that your capacity is reduced.
It's okay to rest. It's important to slow down. It's ok to have hard days.
